Arrest Allegation Saga By DSS Over EFCC Boss.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has  that it did not arrest Mr Ibrahim Magu, the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Service’s Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, said this in a statement on Monday. He added that the DSS has since been inundated with inquiries over the reported arrest of Magu, stressing that the Service has no connection with the incident. Afunanya issued the statement after reports emerged that the acting chairman of the anti-graft agency had been arrested by DSS officials in Abuja. When contacted, Magu’s S.A. on Media, Tony Amokeodo, told  Channels Television  that his boss was not arrested but only invited to answer questions regarding some allegations against the agency. Amokeodo explained that Magu was invited to appear before a Federal Government panel set up to investigate the allegations of corruption levelled against him. EFCC Boss Arrested By DSS Over Funds Ezzeblement.

Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, has been arrested by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS). Magu who was arrested today Monday, July 6, is currently undergoing interrogation at the DSS Headquarters In Aso Drive. According to reports, Magu was arrested over allegations he was diverting some of the funds recovered from suspected looters by the commission. It was learnt that the security details to Magu put up a stiff resistance during the arrest of their principal. Magu's arrest comes a few weeks after  Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation  (AGF), wrote a letter to President Buhari demanding Magu's removal. Malami in his letter accused Magu of corruption raging from diversion of recovered loot to insubordination and misconduct.

PDP Dissolved South -South Caretaker Committee

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the dissolution of its South-South zonal caretaker committee ahead of the party's primary for Edo governorship election.  PDP's National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiya announced a new caretaker committee for the zone and further revealed that it is in pursuant to Sections 29 (2)(b) and 31(2)(e) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended). Rolls Royce cuts 9,000 jobs

This is not a crisis of our making. A man, who is believed to be high on drugs, caused a scene at a retail store in Texas when he refused to get in his car because his "sugar daddy, lover, and rival were in the trunk and wouldn't leave." The man - who insists he's not high on drugs even though spectators say he is - said he wouldn't get in his car until the three people in his trunk leave. When told that nobody was in his trunk, he insisted that three people were there and he took witnesses there to see for themselves. The trunk was empty and the people told him so. Atletico Madrid Player Test Positive Of COVID-19.

Atletico Madrid and Brazilian full-back, Renan Lodi has reportedly tested positive for Coronavirus following massive squad testing this week. According to Spanish news agency EFE, all players and staff, who arrived in gloves and masks for the medical exams, were tested for the novel Coronavirus, and  22-year-old Lodi tested positive.   It was also reported that nine other Atletico players were found to be immune from the virus after they showed antibodies, potentially having had and overcome the virus. This means, they are no longer contagious and will, therefore, be able to train with the rest of their team-mates. Spanish's La Liga is tipped to return on the 20th of June with the remaining fixtures set to be played in five-weeks.

Tekashi 6ix9ine has finally explained why he snitched on his gang members for a lighter sentence. COVID - 19 Task Force in Cross River State flogging Defaulters.

Defaulters seen outside past the curfew were flogged by Cross River State's COVID-19 taskforce team and it was recorded on video. The task force went around with their vans and whenever they sighted people outside, they approcahed them and flogged them to chase them into their houses. The curfew in Cross River State is part of the action by the state to fight COVID-19. Cross River has no recorded case of the deadly Coronavirus and actions are being taken to keep it that way. NCDC officials Fails To Undergo COVID - 19 Test in Kogi State.

The Kogi State Government has accused the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) officials of leaving the state after they were asked to undergo Coronavirus tests. Kogi's Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo alleged that some officials of the agency who arrived the state to boost its capacity, returned to Abuja after Governor Yahaya Bello asked them to go into isolation and also get ready for Coronavirus tests. Central Bank of Nigeria stops Banks from sacking their workers due to COVID-19.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed banks to halt any plans to sack staff due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision was taken after a special meeting of the bankers’ committee held on Saturday May 2, to review the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Nigerian banking industry. A statement signed and released by CBN spokesman, Isaac Okorafor, today Sunday May 3, said that going forward, the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, will have to be consulted before any bank staff is dismissed during this pandemic. President Mohammed Buhari Sacks NEMA DG, name his Replacement.

President Buhari has terminated the appointment of  the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mustapha Maihaja (pictured above) and has appointed Air Vice Marshal Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (retd) as his replacement. A statement released from the office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF),  said Muhammadu Alhaji's appointment was implemented on Thursday, April 30th, for an initial period of four years in accordance with Section 3 of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Act. “The erstwhile Director General, Mustapha Y. Maihaja, has been directed to hand over all official matters to AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed immediately.
